two cardinals
we’re just like two cardinals, we’ve mated for life. blessed to be together, through happiness and strife. we’ve flown so high, been struck so low, but always together there’s nothing that we can’t shoulder, growing older, growing older. we’re just like two dolphins, we swim together well. living through changing currents, we move in parallel. through thick and thin, better or worse, till death do us part it’s so much more than a verse, when the water, has gone dry. I am like a rock while you are like a shell. a rootedness surrounds me, in you the ocean dwells. the solid earth and the echoing sea, the practical one and the dreamer who leads us to something, so much better, so much better. of course we knew one would precede the other in death, taking the lead to the unknown. now I’ve no cardinal. I’ve no dolphin. I’ve no shell. all instruments and vocals glenn
