don't wait up
don’t wait up for me I’m afraid that I’m still far away from home don’t wait up for me I’m afraid once more I’m leaving you alone go ahead without me. I will do my best to catch up with you soon go ahead without me I can’t get away, there’s things here I must do clouds drift through the mountains as elk graze far below a grove of trembling aspen whisper things untold…. untold don’t give up on me though I’m sure you’re tired of my absence again don’t give up on me I’ll be home some time but I’m not sure just when painted cliffs in deserts etched by wind and rain lavender blooms in sand dunes each year again, and again.... blooms again waves roll in so gently along the sandy shore shells catching the sunlight tides rise and fall once more…. once more gazing at my laptop screen, but picturing you at home curled up in a blanket reading…. all alone morning sunlight floods the trees as birdsong fills the air another chance to get things right another chance. all instruments and vocals glenn
