a bag by sue
saturday morning, oh so quiet, peace blankets the room. the scent of the blossoms played in by bird songs, a dancing perfume. rae finishes her tea, and stands to stretch her fingers reaching so far above her head like a tree that’s growing toward the sky she looks up and says I’ve got an idea I know what I want to do today we can get on our shoes and be on our way what I’d like to do today… I’d like to go buy a bag by sue I'd like to go buy a bag by sue let’s walk up to jp, just me and you we can stop here and there, for today we’ve no cares oh I’d like to get a bag by sue. crossing centre street, ah, the lilacs in bloom we lay on the hillside soaking it in a scent to consume. the pond so lovely, and duckling time rae looks at me eyes wide she smiles and points like an innocent standing at the gate she takes my hand and stands in awe a sense of wonder painted on her face as the ducks skirt away, into the reeds she looks at me and says, I’d like to go buy a bag by sue I’d like to go buy a bag by sue it’s the right thing to do, to support our friends we should be there for them help them, meet their ends oh I’d like to get a bag by sue jp center, oh perhaps some ice cream with lumpy primate we sit back and enjoy the scene. evening light golden, points to the time we stroll past dunky to a shop sublime no big box here, rae loves the atmosphere. these bags are lovely, perhaps I’ll get two a gift for dorothy on her birthday rae slips one on, and we headed away we headed home glad to have a bag by sue glad to have a bag by sue it’s the right thing to do, to support our friends we should be there for them help them, meet their ends oh I’m glad I have two bags, by sue. as I looked through the closet, sorting out a life, there it was. ready to go. well worn, well loved. well worn, well loved. like our lives, that bag by sue. all instruments and vocals glenn
